Why haven’t I heard of this guy earlier. The Japanese Edison, Yoshiro Nakamatsu (aka Dr. NakaMats) claims to hold over 3,000 inventions! He’s been on several American television shows and is considered a national hero in Japan. On Wikipedia, it lists some of his inventions:
“[...] Including “PyonPyon” spring shoes and the basic technology for the floppy disk, the CD, the DVD, the digital watch, CinemaScope, and the taxicab meter. Nakamatsu claims that he licensed about a dozen of his patents related to the floppy disk technology to IBM Corporation in 1979, but the details of the arrangement are confidential.”
Wikipedia really just touches the tip of the iceberg though. Brainsturbator has written a great piece on Dr. NakaMats captivating lifestyle, along with some more information on his other inventions (which are just as compelling)! What a fascinating guy!
