Thirsty? How about some eel soda?

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thank you very much for visiting!

Right now it’s the hottest time of the year for Japan and a favorite past time is eating eels which many Japanese believe boost stamina during hot weather…..now people are drinking it! Now although I could eat some eel, I can’t really imagine drinking it…

Considered the first mass-produced eel drink in Japan (and possibly the world), the yellow colored drink contains extracts of the eel’s head and bones along with vitamins A, B1, B2, D, and E that are found in the fish as well.

Mmmm my preferred way of eel…..eaten! (AP Photo/Kyodo News)

Interesting beverage, to say the least. I wonder if it’s carbonated? Although this drink seems kind of weird…I’ve seen some weirder things in Japan. So…don’t have time to chew down some eel? Drink it! :D
